Experience modern living at its finest in Forest Hill, London, where MLA Architecture and Development has redefined contemporary spaces with a rear and side extension, including a garage conversion for a semi-detached property.

Designed to meet the demands of a dynamic family lifestyle, this project introduces an open-plan kitchen and dining area, coupled with an off-shot utility space. The L-shaped rear extension seamlessly wraps around the existing property, optimizing the usable floor area for a cohesive living experience.

Breaking down the barriers between indoors and outdoors, we incorporated oversized openings—a 2.5m slimline sliding door and a 1.8m picture window. These features flood the interiors with natural light and offer stunning views of the rear garden, creating a harmonious connection between indoor and outdoor spaces.

Step onto the elevated porcelain patio area, an extension of the interior space with inset planters and strategic lighting. This area blurs the lines between inside and outside, providing a versatile space for family gatherings, relaxation, and entertainment.

The exterior showcases misty grey charred timber cladding, adding a sophisticated and textured facade. Projecting timber reveals to the openings enhance the rear elevation, contributing to the architectural finesse of the design.
